Mika
Because his song, "Grace Kelly" makes me giddy, because Staci raves about him, and because it was only $7.99 on iTunes, I bought Mika's album, Life in Cartoon Motion.
It's amazing! It is, by far, the best music purchase I've made lately, and that's saying a lot (among the ranks of Regina Spektor and Lily Allen, you know). It's been a long time since I've heard something so refreshingly unique and infectious. This kid has a pop sound reminiscent of, get this, Queen-Aaron Carter-Jason Mraz-James Blunt-my high school girls' choir, that is absolutely ADDICTIVE. I had a hard time getting of my car this morning once I got to work. Throw in some Ben Kweller triplets on the piano and a little diddy about a beautiful big girl with "curves in all the right places," and you've got a hit!
Folks, buy this album. It's quirky and cool (and cheap at iTunes), and I doubt you'll regret it.

thanks for the recommendation! does he sound like ray lamontagne?
Much more upbeat and pop-ish than what I've heard of Ray Lamontagne.
