Clover, Honeysuckle, and Pine

I bought a bike rack for my car. The possibilities are endless. Saturday I took my bike downtown. Biking down King Street gave me a completely different perspective than I get from walking or driving. There was something very calming and dreamlike about it. A little foreign, like I was in an unfamiliar world. For some reason, I felt incredibly centered. Sunday I went to Sullivan's Island with my bike. I got a double-dose of fresh-squeezed lemonade from a genuine lemonade stand! The boys running it reminded me of Caleb and Joshua, though much less loveable. Everything was so fragrant - the whole island smelled like clover, honeysuckle, and the big pine trees that consumed my grandparents' front yard in West Virginia.

Yesterday was the laziest day I can remember having in quite some time. I slept in, made breakfast for my family, went on my Sullivan's Island bike ride, ate lunch, did some little drawings in my quiet bedroom, laid on the porch with Bonnie and my iPod, played video games, and went out to dinner on the Isle of Palms with my family. It was just what I needed. I feel quite refreshed at the start of this week.

btw, our Bonnie girl is getting old. Bandit (her brother) died not long ago, so I'm scared. She's my favorite dog in all the world (my buppyboo) and I'm so sad to think of life without her.

Not to end on such a sad note, Christine finishes her first year of college today. I'm very proud of her! Plus I'm happy that we'll get to spend the next couple weeks together before she's off to North Carolina for the summer. I love that girl!
