It makes me wish once again that I was more creative. Robert and I had a nice conversation about it last night. I complained because I don't have the prompting and advising that I had in college, which makes me feel stunted and helpless when it comes to creating things. I remembered Teresa (my advisor) pushing me from my comfort zone in college. I tend to become too attached to my work, or a certain stage of my work and don't want to move past it and develop it further. I don't improve it for fear of ruining it. But Robert, as always, had some good advise, a few ideas for how to get past all that. View my work as disposable, throw pieces away. If I like a drawing, discard it and draw it again, improving each time. Take "assignments" from friends and family that will inspire me and stretch my skills. I need to stop lamenting my lack of creativity and just do it. Thanks, babe!
